Top Up-And-Coming South Florida Bands To Check Out In 2016

New Year's has passed, and now is the time to start planning out 2016. One great way to start out and continue the new year is by checking out the vibrant music scene that South Florida has to offer. Although many of these bands have not made it onto the national stage yet, it may be only a matter of time before they make it big. These five great local bands are must-listen-to options for this year! Plus, if 2016 holds an important event for you, such as a wedding, an anniversary or any other celebration, hiring a band is a must, and one of these might be the perfect fit.

Big City Dogs Band

This classic rock & blues band is based out of Fort Lauderdale. They play throughout the South Florida area, from Marina 84 in Fort Lauderdale to Lefty's in Coral Gables; they even will be playing at St. David's Church Carnival on March 11, 2016 in Davie, FL. The band includes four players: Rick Smith on guitar, Georgio Bouza on percussion, John Crockett on bass guitar and Carlos Cano on guitar/keyboards. Blues Brothers Soul Band

Blues Brothers Soul Band is actually already a very popular band, but is currently auditioning for the part of "Elmwood Blues" to give it an updated and new sound. From the Jungle Queen Riverboat out of Fort Lauderdale to Casino Miami, this band plays in a wide range of clubs and events throughout South Florida. Inna Sense

A popular reggae band, Inna Sense, also incorporates rock into their unique playing style. This band puts on shows not only throughout South Florida, but they also host many shows in Orlando and Naples. The band's influences include everything from classics like Bob Marley and Led Zeppelin to more modern musicians like Coldplay. From '60s music to current hits, the Fusion Band plays a wide range of music. For those looking to host a wedding, anniversary or any celebration in 2016, this would be a great band to hire for your special occasion. The band also includes dance and choreography with their songs and are a big hit in the casino circuit. They mostly perform in Fort Lauderdale and throughout Broward county.
