When in Key West, a visit to Garbo's Grill is certainly in order. It's no secret why this is not only one of the top spots for fish tacos in the Keys, but also in the entire region. Gabo Grill's Cayo Fish tacos are legendary, and with good reason as every bit is an explosion of flavor for one's taste buds. Las Cazuelas

Kendall Breeze Shopping Center
F12310 S.W. 127th Ave.
Miami, FL 33186
(305) 232-1091
lascazuelasmiami.com

For those who don't know, Las Cazuelas is quickly becoming one of the top spots for authentic Mexican cuisine in all of Southwest Miami-Dade County. Located just a short distance from Kendall Drive, this is the place to enjoy scrumptious fish tacos for those living or visiting the highly-populated Kendall area. Cheese lovers rejoice, as this is home to some of the best "queso fundido" in all of South Florida. Be sure and start with mouth-watering appetizers such as the "Queso Fundido Simple," "Queso Fundido Con Hongos," or the house favorite, "Choriqueso" (All served with three corn/flour tortillas). If finding the best fish tacos around is the reason for visiting this top spot, one will certainly not be disappointed. Las Cazuelas' three fish taco ("combo de tacos de pescado") combo is simple, but gets the job done, as it's made with flounder, lettuce and tomatoes with a side of beans. Zona Fresca

1635 N. Federal Highway
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33305
(954) 566-1777
www.zonafresca.com

The Baja Fish Taco at Zona Fresca also ranks among the top spots in South Florida. One of the beauties about this place is that it doesn't deviate much from the authentic Baja-style recipe. Zona Fresca's Baja fish taco consists of fresh beer-battered fish and shredded cabbage served in a warm flour tortilla. Of course, Baja Fish Tacos are all about the sauce, and at Zona Fresca its (secret) tangy dressing is what separates this place from any other fish taco joint in Broward County. Hours of operation at the Ft. Lauderdale location are Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., Fridays from 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays Zona Fresca is open from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Jefe's Original Fish Taco & Burgers

North Miami, FL 33181
Store: (305) 989-5811
Truck: (305) 600-9636
www.jefesoriginal.com

In recent years, food trucks have become a bit of a trend in South Florida. However, very few have been able to make the transition from the streets to becoming a legitimate top spot to visit. That's certainly the case with Jefe's Original Fish Taco & Burger, which not only still operates out of a food truck, but has also made North Miami its home under the name Jefe's Soul Shack. Mimicking the old recipe from its food truck, its Ensenada-style fish is one of the main reasons for this company's success. For only $2.50 each, one can enjoy a soft corn tortilla taco stuffed with "beer batter crispy fresh fish," shaved cabbage, Pico de Gallo and, of course, a house-made secret crema (sauce). Hours of operation at Jefe's Soul Shack are Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. (Closed on Sundays), and please visit the website for more information on the Jefe's Original Fish Taco & Burgers food truck locations.
