Lee & Tina Hills Playground

The Lee & Tina Hills playground is situated at the south end of Bayfront Park. Parents can rest easy knowing that one of the main features of this playground is its rubber safety surfacing. The playground also offers a very unique play sculpture which was crafted by Cemrock Landscapes, Inc. This sculpture provides for a great play area for kids from ages five to 12. In addition to being a place to play on, the sculpture portrays a wave featuring a dolphin, turtle and manatee, all of which are marine animals commonly found in the Miami waters.

Yoga In The Park

Yoga is a great way for parents to get centered and stretch. Bayfront Park offers free yoga classes by a certified yoga teacher for those 18 years of age and older. All levels are welcome to attend classes, from beginners to advanced, but individuals must bring their own yoga mat, water and towel. Classes are taught on Monday & Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. Classes take place at the Tina Hills Pavilion, but don’t worry if it rains. In that case classes will be moved inside to the Bayfront Park office.

A Day In The Life Of Coral

New York artist David Brooks spent years studying, observing and photographing the life cycle of coral found near Miami, and now he is sharing his findings, both beautiful and sobering, with the rest of the world. His public art display featuring billboards takes viewers through the saddening effects of global warming and deteriorating water quality to show our impact on the nature right at our own doorsteps. Running until Jan. 18, 2016, this exhibit will be set up for free viewing for all in the park. Come and journey through the beautiful large-scaled images showing both the beautiful apex of coral’s life, and its saddening death.
