Aficionados of jazz can snap their fingers and tap their feet to a wide spectrum of musicians that will convene in downtown Miami. Nestled between glittering buildings and cooled by a light bay breeze, this first-ever festival provides worldwide jazz with a Latin flavor. The first night features top Brazilian jazz artists and day two will be old-school jazz with noted artists like Don Friedman, Patty Ascher, Joe Carter and many more. Festival organizers proudly support the American Society for Scleroderma Research---an autoimmune disease that affects all ages---and donates a portion of ticket proceeds for continuing research for a cure.

Are you into festivals but not wild about being outside in the sweltering heat? If you are a movie lover, then you're in luck. Whether or not you claim to be a French film connoisseur, ditch the French fries and the beret and visit this film festival, which bases its screening selections on movies shown at Cannes. Presented in the historic Tower Theatre on Calle Ocho, the festival presents a new selection of 10 French films over a two-day period with English subtitles and a question-and-answer session with actors or directors following one of the films.
