Reporter Rielle Creighton joined CBS4 in July 2017 and quickly experienced what South Florida weather is all about, with around-the-clock coverage of Hurricane Irma. She is a reporter and has also anchored both weekday and weekend newscasts.
Prior to joining WFOR, Rielle spent four years as the weekend evening anchor and weekday reporter at KGTV in San Diego. She also had 2-year stints as an anchor/reporter in Milwaukee, WI (WDJT) and Mobile, AL (WPMI). Rielle has regularly been front and center on the biggest national news stories, from covering the terrorist attack in San Bernadino to the Milwaukee shooting at a Sikh Temple to the massive oil spill off the Gulf Coast.
Rielle grew up watching her mother anchor and report the news in Omaha, NE, before attending the University of Nebraska in nearby Lincoln. After graduating with a degree in political science, Rielle worked at a law firm in St. Louis and was studying for the LSAT, but quickly decided that a law career wasn’t in the cards. She went back to school, and while studying for her Master’s in journalism, landed a TV job in Lincoln! It has been a match made in heaven ever since.
Rielle is an avid traveler and never shies away from a challenge, whether it’s hiking the 27-mile Inca Trail, scaling a glacier in Iceland, or tubing through a worm-filed cave in New Zealand.
