Joe Rose

Joe Rose “The Big Dog” has been a staple on South Florida Sports Radio and Television for over 30 years.

The Miami Dolphins drafted Joe Rose out of the University of California in 1980 and during his rookie campaign, he was voted MVP in the East/West All Star Game. During his NFL career, Joe caught 13 touchdowns with one sticking out more than others, Dan Marino’s first touchdown pass of his professional career.

Rose became a sportscaster as a natural extension of his college and professional football career, joining NBC 6 Sports Team in 1992 as the Sports Director.

Joe is well known for his show on Miami’s Sportsradio 560 WQAM, which he has hosted for over 20 years. Rose is also currently a color commentator on the Miami Dolphins radio broadcasts and a contributor on CBS 4.

If you can’t find Joe on a broadcast, he is probably spending time with his family or on the tennis courts in Davie, Florida.
