Gov. Ron DeSantis Pledges Over $30 Million To Support Manatees

JACKSONVILLE (CBSMiami) – Gov. Ron DeSantis made a major announcement Monday to help manatees.

He pledged more than $30 million to support the gentle sea cows.

"It will enhance and expand the network of acute care facilities, like the one right here at Jacksonville Zoo, to treat injured and distressed manatees," he said.

The governor went on to say that funding will also support restoration efforts, so manatees can access Florida's spring waters.
