MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – Bam Adebayo made the go-ahead dunk with 27 seconds remaining and scored 27 points in the Miami Heat’s 113-109 comeback victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.

Jimmy Butler added 20 points, Kyle Lowry finished with 16 points and Tyler Herro had 15 for the Heat.

They finished on a 10-2 run.

Danilo Gallinari’s 3-point attempt for Atlanta with nine seconds left bounced off the rim and Herro’s two free throws secured the victory.

It was the first of two meaningless games, standings-wise at least, for Miami to finish the regular season.

The Heat were locked into the No. 1 seed for the Eastern Conference playoffs on Thursday and know that they’ll play Game 1 of the first-round series at home on April 17 against either Cleveland, Brooklyn, Charlotte, or Atlanta, which dropped into a tie for ninth with Charlotte.

Trae Young scored 35 points for Atlanta. Bogdan Bogdanovic added 25 points, and Clint Capela had 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Young scored Atlanta’s final 12 points of the second quarter for a 61-56 lead at halftime.

Miami coach Erik Spoelstra returned to the club after a two-game absence because of health and safety protocols.

Hawks: The contract of G Skylar Mays was converted from a two-way deal to the standard NBA pact.

Drafted in the second round by the club in 2020, Mays has appeared in 27 games with the Hawks this season in addition to an eight-game stint with the G League College Park Skyhawks.

G Lou Williams (low back discomfort) missed his second consecutive game.

Heat: Adebayo shot 8 of 14, extending his streak of shooting 50% or better to 15 games.

P.J. Tucker (calf strain) was out Friday and won’t play in the regular-season finale Sunday either.

The Heat are hopeful he could be ready for Game 1 of the playoffs.

Hawks: At Houston on Sunday.

Heat: At Orlando on Sunday.
