Six People Sent To The Hospital After Fiery Van Crash Fire On Turnpike

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A van fire on the Turnpike snarled morning commute traffic in SW Miami-Dade.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the fire was the result of a crash around 7:20 a.m. involving a white GMC pickup truck and 2 white Ford vans in the southbound lanes just before Bird Road.

There were 19 people involved in the crash.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said six people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
