Search On For Man Who Shot Woman At The Landings In Pembroke Pines

PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) – A woman was shot in the parking lot of The Landings apartment complex in Pembroke Pines Tuesday afternoon.

Police are still looking for the shooter said to be a man in his 20s who was last seen wearing a black shirt and grey shorts.

Pembroke Pines police started a search for the suspect setting up a perimeter inside the complex at SW 101st Terrace and SW 16th Street.

"My brother and his wife heard gunshots and then Saw police and the helicopters" said David Williams who was visiting Tuesday.

According to police, the unidentified female victim knew her assailant.

"An adult male and female agreed to a meeting.  The male shot the female" said Pembroke Pines Police Captain Adam Feiner.

Feiner said the two were engaged in an unlawful encounter, but wouldn't elaborate. The woman was shot in her car.

The woman first went to an emergency care center before being transferred to Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital. Police say her injuries aren't life threatening

Police say her car was impounded as part of their investigation.
