Red, Long-Time Zoo Miami Resident Ostrich Found Dead

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - "Red" the ostrich has died.

The long-time Zoo Miami resident was found dead in his enclosure earlier this week.

"Red" arrived at the zoo inAaugust of 19-96 -- and became a personal favorite of the zookeepers who cared for him over the years.

He was the last remaining ostrich at the zoo.
