Construction Worker Killed In Hit And Run On I-95

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) - A construction worker was killed in a hit and run accident on I-95 in Pompano Beach.

It happened Thursday morning around 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes just south of Sample Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 37-year-old man was standing in the inside express lane fixing a "Road Work Ahead" sign that was on the left shoulder when he was stuck. The driver then sped off.

The FHP said the vehicle that hit the man was black or gray in color, possibly a 2013-2016 Chevy Cruze, and it will have damage to the left front side.
