Man Injured In West Kendall Shooting

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami-Dade Police are investigating an early morning shooting in West Kendall that left one person hurt.

According to police, a person armed with a gun entered a home at 13824 Southwest 107th Terrace on Monday morning and shot a man inside. Paramedics took the victim to Kendall Regional Medical Center.

Police tell CBS4 they are still searching for the shooter but could not provide a suspect description.

Neighbors and police said the home where the shooting happened is well-known to the Hammocks District office for narcotics activity. Police added that nothing was taken from the home.

"I mean it blows me away, you know," said one neighbor who asked we not use his name. "It's Monday, it's President's Day, quiet neighborhood. It's disappointing."

Miami-Dade Police said the victim is expected to be okay and as of Monday morning was speaking with detectives.

In addition to the shooter, investigators said they are looking to speak with a woman who was in the home at the time of the shooting but left before detectives arrived.
