Coconut Creek Welcomes New School Safety Dog

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - In Coconut Creek a new school safety dog is sniffing around bookbags and running drills with her partner.

Taylor, a 17-month-old Labrador, is trained to find weapons and ammunition.

Her handler, officer Mike Leonard, apprehended the alleged shooter during the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.

The new concept of a school safety dog is being welcomed by the Coconut Creek Police Department.
