Orlando Lopez Wins Runoff Election To Remain Mayor Of Sweetwater

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A runoff election was held in Sweetwater Tuesday night to find out who the next mayor would be.

Turns out the current mayor is staying in office.

Orlando Lopez was declared the winner with 54% of the vote.

Lopez was victorious over the man he defeated four years ago, former mayor Jose Diaz.

Diaz received just under 46% of the runoff ballots.
