MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Miami Gardens neighborhood was rocked by the sound of an early morning explosion as two vehicles went up in flam in front of a home.

It happened at NW 28th Avenue and NW 169th Terrace.

Brenda Rojo said her six-year-old sister, who she thought was having a nightmare about spiders, woke her parents first.

“It was around three in the morning, my dad just woke up and found the cars were on fire,” she said.

It appears that the fire started in a mini-van parked on the side of the house and spread to a car parked nearby.

Everyone made it out of the home safely. Both the vehicles were destroyed and a window on the side if the house was damaged.

“Everything is fine. It’s just the cars, we have insurance on the cars,” said Rojo.

Rojo said the police believe the fire was intentionally set, but the family has no idea who would want to do this.
