Two Teens Arrested In Murder Of Pregnant Woman In Opa-locka

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Two teens have been arrested in connection to the murder of a 33-year-old pregnant woman in Opa-locka.
The victim's loved ones told CBS4's Peter D'Oench that they are grateful that witnesses came forward to help and that detectives were able to arrest those responsible. They also say they are overwhelmed by this tragedy and still grieving.
The victim's step-father, Leonard Barnes, said "My poor step-daughter was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Right now I am mourning still and in shock. She meant the world to me. My heart is bleeding inside. I can not eat and I can not drink. But I will say this that I am grateful for the arrests."
On Wednesday 19-year-old Zackrus Beckham was taken into custody. Last week, police arrested 15-year-old Tamarray McDaniels. Both have been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.
The shooting happened November 26th at a home in the 2500 block of Superior Street.
It reportedly stemmed from a gang-related feud on social media, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.
The two gunmen first began shooting at the home.
They soon noticed Quantia Curry-Golden sitting in her car in the driveway.
They then reportedly fired on the car in an attempt to eliminate any witnesses, according to the Herald.
Curry-Golden, who was three months pregnant, was killed. Her 13-year-old daughter, who in the car with her, was injured.
"I know my daughter was in the wrong place at the wrong time. As far as what was going on in the house, or with the people in the house, I have no clue," said Curry-Golden's mother Gladiest Barnes.
Barnes, who is an office manager at a hospital, said she was struck by the age of those arrested but was glad they were in custody.
"It's the best Christmas present anyone could ask for, I am very thankful. So now I don't have to be so tight with anger and things of that nature," said Barnes.
"I just want to thank the community so much. It's all I asked for, just to come forward, if you see anything just say something because no parent should have to go through this," she added.
"Now we need to address what is happening with these young kids who commit these crimes," she said. "These were basically just kids."
Curry-Golden's sister said she wanted to thank Miami-Dade police for finding those responsible.
"It's just, how your mom means to your family, how your older sibling means to you," said Lorraine Stukes. "It's like, she meant literally the world, we worshipped the ground she literally walked on."
"It's crazy what happened. These kids just don't care," she said. "It is horrible. They need to stop that. They don't know what they are doing torturing families."
"I do want to thank Miami-Dade Police for the arrests," she said. "Thank you. This gives us a little peace."
Beckham was held without bond when he appeared before a judge in bond court. The judge found probable cause for the charges. Beckham remained silent as the charges were read.
This is not the first time tragedy has struck the family. Curry-Golden's brother Donald Jones was killed in a drive-by shooting in Miami-Dade. That murder has not been solved.
D'Oench stopped at McDaniel's Miami Gardens home but was told by someone inside the house to leave the property. He also stopped at the home where Beckham was staying but was told he had no family living with him and the person there said he did not know Beckham very well and could not comment.
The duplex where the shooting occurred still has a broken window nearly a month after the incident. Neighbors say the people living there never returned to that home.
