MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Gardens police continue to investigate the deaths of two men who were killed after a shooting turned into an accident between a vehicle and a stolen dirt bike.

Miami Gardens Police say they got the call just before midnight about a wreck with a dirt bike and a car.

They kept 151st Street blocked off while they gathered information. The Bureau of  Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms was also on the scene.

The accident happened one street over in front of a home on 152nd Street.

Cheryl White rents out the home, and when she heard there was an accident, she rushed to scene.

"I was trying to see were my tenants okay? But they weren't there. They said they couldn't get in."

Police say this all started in Opa-locka, where a man told police he saw two men trying to steal his dirt bike. They fought, and shots were fired.  It's unclear who fired at whom.

Police say the two men drove off on the bike, and the owner followed in his car.

The car and bike were in an accident, and the car struck the two on the bike.

One died on the scene, and the other was found dead near a home a short distance away.

Police have not said if they died due to possible gunshot wounds or the accident itself.

Alicia Brown says one of the victims was her nephew.

"His mother is just overwhelmed right now, because that was her only son," she says.  "This is something that she's not going to live down."

Clara Gilbert was also at the scene.  She said she couldn't process what was happening.

"My grandson's gone," she told us. "I just don't want to cry no more. That's all."

At this point, police have not identified anyone involved, and they have not said if the driver is facing charges.
