AVENTURA (CBSMiami) – FBI agents were seen leaving an Aventura complex on Friday afternoon that is the last recorded address for mail bomb suspect Caesar Sayoc and where his mother has lived for decades.

Chopper 4 captured the agents leaving the complex at Northeast 181st Street and 31st Court.

Condominium owners told CBS4's Peter D'Oench that the FBI had also been at the same complex earlier this week but CBS4 could not confirm that and it is not known if that is connected to Sayoc.

Howard Fendell, who is a friend of Sayoc's mother Madeline Giardello, said "She has served the Board of Directors well for the past 18 years and she is a nice woman. It is amazing how these things just happen. It is crazy and unbelievable. I have not seen her son around her."

Condo owner Rula Kaiser who is Giardello's neighbor on the 20th floor of the complex said Giardello "is a nice lady. She is very nice. She is perfect."

Armine Randolph said, "I am in shock. She was our President here of the condo association."

Elizabeth Nielsen said, "She's a very nice woman, a very nice person."

Other condo owners said they had not seen Sayoc recently. One woman, who did not want to give her name, echoed the sentiments of other residents who had heard that Giardello's son had been arrested. "It is sad," she said. "It is very sad."

Condo owner David Ochsensehlager lives on the 20th floor. He took D'Oench and other news crews to Giardello's condo.

No one answered a knock on the door.

Friends say Giardello lives at the condo with her husband.

CBS4 was not able to reach her. Her listed telephone has been disconnected and friends said she had been hospitalized for surgery.
