Last Day To Register To Vote In November, Vote By Mail Ballots Going Out In Dade

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - If you are planning to cast your ballot in the upcoming November 6th General Election and haven't registered to vote yet, today is your last day to do so.
To be eligible to vote you must at least be 18 years old, though they can pre-register at 16, and a U.S. citizen.
To vote you must live in the county where you register. When you register to vote, it is required by law that you include a residential address. A P.O. Box or business address is only allowed as a mailing address, not as a home address.
There are two ways to register to vote.
First, if you meet the requirements you can register online.
The second way to register is to fill out a Voter Registration Application.
Miami-Dade residents can find their applications HERE. When completed, they can be dropped off at the county's election department headquarters at:

Applications can also be dropped off at the county's Elections Branch office downtown with a copy of the necessary ID.
To register in Broward, you may obtain a Voter Registration Application online, online. If you have a form it can be dropped off at:

Early voting in Broward and Miami-Dade runs from October 22nd through November 4th.
If you want to cast your vote before that you can by using a vote by mail ballot.
Registered voters in Miami-Dade can request one online.
The can also be requested by email, fax, phone or mail.
The first vote by mail ballots in Miami-Dade were mailed out Tuesday by the elections department.
Miami-Dade elections department mailed out more than 309-thousand ballots, which means voters should receive them sometime this week.
Elections officials urge voters to prepare in advance to ensure a smooth voting process.
"You must have your up-to-date signature on file with our office, that's how we're able to confirm it is you who has cast the ballot with the department," said Supervisor of Elections Christina White. "If you don't sign the ballot, we are unable to accept it."
Elections officials say if you plan to vote by mail, the ballot must be submitted before 7 p.m. on election day.
In Broward, registered voters can also request one online.
It can be mailed back to the Superviser of Elections Office or dropped off at a designated location beginning October 22nd.
Broward began mailing out their vote by mail ballots on November 2nd.
County election supervisors are hoping that the state sets a new record for voting by mail in a midterm election, and one reason why is the length of the ballot itself.
With all of the federal, state and local races plus 12 amendments, the ballot is longer than usual.
If you're not planning to vote-by-mail, elections officials suggest anyone going to the polls get a sample ballot and fill it out before going to the voting booth.
