'I Lost My Baby Brother Over A Red Light': Brother Of Man Killed In Apparent Road Rage Shooting In Opa-Locka

OPA-LOCKA (CBSMiami) - A 24-year-old man is dead and another in custody after what witnesses called a case of road rage.
The brother of the man who was shot told CBS4's Peter D'Oench that his brother was gunned down for no reason while they were in South Florida doing work for a Memphis, Tennessee roofing company.
"There's no love in this world anymore," he said. "We were taking a left turn and some (expletive deleted) cut me off and shot my brother in the head. You got an (Expletive deleted) city and you need to change that. You need to learn how to love each other. I am not even from around here."
"My brother was just an awesome dude man," he said. "He just wanted to buy his wife a frigging car and he loved fishing and he was just a great dude. I lost my baby brother over a red light."
The brothers were part of a crew here in South Florida from the Jolly Roofing Company of Memphis, Tennessee.
"We just pulled in here to Fort Lauderdale three days ago to do work and this was our third day here," he said. "We were trying to pull a left hand turn and the dude got out of the car and shot my brother in the face. That's what happened. I am done."
CBS4 reached out to the Jolly Roofing Company but we were not able to get a comment.
Opa-Locka police chief James Dobson said around 7:15 a.m. there was a traffic accident at NW 135th St. and 42nd Avenue next to the Opa-Locka Airport.
The accident involved a black car and a white pick-up truck. Witnesses at the nearby Marathon gas station said the driver of the car got out of his vehicle, as did the driver of the truck. They argued. As it grew more heated, the driver of the car pulled out a gun and shot the driver of the truck.
The 22-year-old shooter called 911 and remained on scene. Miami-Dade Police say he is being questioned. They were not able to say if the man who was shot had a weapon.
He was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he died.
Several people in the truck who saw the shooting were visibly distraught and overcome with emotion.
Police have not identified the man who died.
Surveillance tape obtained by CBS4 news shows some customers from inside a Marathon gas station peering out a window from inside the store just after the shooting and the flashing lights of police and fire rescue vehicles in the distance.
