MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A man who reportedly abducted a woman overnight in Miami has been arrested.

The woman's mother called the police around 3:30 a.m. and said her daughter had been taken by her boyfriend, identified as 30-year-old Javier Cardenas.

"They have a history of domestic violence. So, he's no stranger to us," said Miami police Officer Kenia Fallat.

Officers went to the daughter's home, at 1731 NW 31st Street, and discovered that the police had been there earlier because her car had been stolen.

The woman's car was spotted and police chased it for a short time before losing sight of it.

During a check on Cardenas, an address in Miramar came up. When they arrived at the Haven Lakes Estate mobile home park, at 112th Avenue and SW 55th Street, they found the missing woman sitting in her car.

A search of the area found Cardenas sitting in a lounge chair by the pool at the community center. He was subsequently taken into custody.
