Police Investigating Lauderhill Shooting That Sends Man To Hospital In Critical Condition

LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) – Lauderhill Fire Rescue raced to Broward Health Medical Center early Sunday morning with a man who had been shot multiple times.

Police found the critically injured man at 4950 Northwest 15th Court after are receiving a 911 call.

Family members identified him a 29-year-old Kevens Emmanuel, a locksmith.

They say Emmanuel is in the intensive care unit of Broward Health with bullets still lodged in his body.

"I heard a faint sound but I couldn't say whether it was a gunshot or not," said neighbor Noel Graham.

Lauderhill police say evidence indicates Emmanuel was shot and exchanged gunfire with his attackers.

They say he was returning home at six in the morning when he was confronted at his front door.

A woman who said she is a close family friend described Emmanuel as a, "very good guy, an entrepreneur who put his family first."

Police say Emmanuel is in critical condition and they haven't been able to talk to him about what happened.

His family is desperate for answers and holding onto hope this father of two will pull through.
