Fort Lauderdale (CBSMiami) – A man is dead and two women are injured after a shooting in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood Thursday night.

One witness, who didn't want to reveal his identity or show his face on TV, told CBS4's Silva Harapetian he was one of the first at the scene.

He said he saw a woman get out of a red car – she had been shot in the head.

"I told her to sit down and stop running before she dropped dead," he said.

The shooting happened on NW 15th Ter. and NW 15th St. in Lauderdale Manors Park at around 7 p.m.

Police said the red car was driving westbound when someone walked up and shot the three people in the car, including another woman and a male driver.

"I ran back to the car to see if her guy was alright. I said, 'Buddy are you alright?' He was slumped over and he had a bunch of holes," the witness said.

The driver died at the scene. The two women were taken to the hospital.

Police are looking for one suspect, but the witness, a father of 10, said he saw five people standing around two with guns.

"I grew up in this neighborhood. I used to do the same stuff until I got all these kids. Every day it's something different. Every day police gotta be here," he said.

Fort Lauderdale police said they need the community's help to find those responsible as they haven't been able to ID anyone.

"It's going to take the community to help detectives solve this case. We need the communities help in finding the suspect," said Det. Tracy Figone.
