MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – Miramar police have issued a safety alert after two women pulled off a brash robbery scheme in broad daylight.

Investigators said they approached their targets near banks and forced them to get into a vehicle where they robbed them. They then drove their victims to ATMs where they forced them to withdraw cash.

"It's hard, I feel broken," said one woman who did not wish to be identified in this report. "I was crying for my life."

The 21-year-old student is still traumatized by what happened to her in late November after she withdrew money from an ATM on Miramar Parkway and SW 68 Avenue.

She said a car pulled up and two women ordered her at gunpoint to get in.

"She told me, 'You're gonna get in this car or I'm gonna shoot you. You're not supposed to make a scene or anything,'" recalled the woman.

She said she was forced into a car and robbed of the hundreds of dollars she had just taken out of the ATM. She said they then forced her to drain the rest of her bank account.

"They just gonna steal from you, but they don't know what you did to get the money and how hard you had to work to get it," she said.

She said she hasn't had much sleep since the incident.

Miramar police said they have two confirmed cases in their city.

The second crime happened within a week of the other at a bus stop two and a half miles away on Miramar Parkway and Douglas Road.

Police said surveillance video from the robberies shows that one of the women often wears medical scrubs and has gold teeth. Her partner in crime has a distinct tattoo.

"She's shorter, approximately 5'2" to 5'4". She has a tattoo on her ring finger," said police spokeswoman Tania Rues.

Miramar police say this type of crime has happened at least a dozen times in South Florida.

"We feel that these two suspects have committed this crime on multiple occasions in other jurisdictions, in both Dade and Broward counties," said Rues.

Thieves have targeted women in Miramar, North Miami, Miami Gardens Pembroke Pines and West Park.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
