Many Wondering What Will Come Next Following Fidel Castro's Death

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It was expected to be a busy day at Sergio's on Coral Way as the popular restaurant planned to show the burial of Fidel Castro on their in-house TV screens.

That was until a media blackout of the event was announced.

Many of the people showing up at the restaurant Sunday morning were not surprised.

The main thing that many Cubans are thinking about is what will happen now that Castro has died.

"I feel bad for all Cubans for whatever has happened [to them] before," said Marco Gomez. "Most of them are saying they are glad he died, but let's see if the system changes."

Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of optimism for things improving in Cuba.

The main consensus is that whether the man is charge is named Fidel or Raul, things will remain the same for the people living on the island nation just 90 miles away from Key West.

"Of course they're completely brainwashed," Henry Ovares said of the people living in Cuba. "[The Cuban government is] going to control the situation one hundred percent. It's completely different here [in the United States] than it is there."

CBS4's Hank Tester asked if Raul Castro will make a difference at all after the death of Fidel. "No," said Ovares. "He's gonna go follow the same hard line. He's cut from the same mold as Fidel Castro so you're getting the same thing."

The Castro regime with Raul in charge has allowed some things to change, such as letting commercial airlines fly in and out of Cuba again.

Still, major changes are not expected to come as long as the Castro family remains in power.
