Floridians Woke Up To The Coldest Morning So Far

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- South Floridians woke up to the coldest morning so far this season.

We had overnight lows tumbling to the 50s across Broward and Miami-Dade counties. In the Florida keys, we had low temperatures hitting the mid-60s.

Average lows at this time of year are usually in the upper 60s.

What's happening is that the northwest winds, in the wake of a cold front, are transporting cooler, drier, stable air across Florida's peninsula.

But how long should we expect it to stay?

Although it was a chilly start, temperatures will climb to the upper 70s Monday afternoon and there will be plenty of sunshine.

Monday night will not be as cool as this morning because winds will be shifting more out of the northeast to moderate our temperatures overnight. Near the coast, temperatures will dip down to the low 60s. Inland, temperature lows will fall to the upper 50s.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, highs will rebound to near 80 degrees.

Thanksgiving morning, we'll wake up with the upper 60s but it will warm up with temperatures hitting the low 80s with the potential for a few showers.
