MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- They call it Casa Bahia - a tropical retreat in the heart of Coconut Grove.

Sitting on an acre of land surrounded by water, this contemporary-style home featuring seven bedrooms, and a private guest house was designed to be a sustainable sanctuary.

"It's a three-story waterfront property built of natural materials, natural woods and exposed concrete," said Pablo Alfaro from Douglas Elliman Realtors.

Priced at $50 million, Casa Bahia is a homage to nature and to the elements where everything inside is out and outside is in like the floating staircase to the second floor.

"It really sets the tone for the lightness of the house," said Alfaro.

"I'm hoping our viewers can see that the outside is on this side of us. There are no walls here," said CBS4's Lisa Petrillo walking up the stairs "inside" the home.

The earth-toned living area is framed by floor to ceiling windows facing the ocean. It's open to the most breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay.

The dining room and all of furniture created by designer Catalina Echavarria is hand-carved.

"She used the best craftsmen from Bali and each piece was designed for each room of the house," Alfaro said.

There's a 700 bottle all-glass wine cellar and a hideaway kitchen. The master is modern and minimalist with patio views to the outside. The master bath has dual marble sinks, a custom tub and a shower and jacuzzi that opens to nature.

"Take two steps and you're here outside," said Petrillo showing how the bathroom opens to outside.

"It's completely private," said Alfaro. "The trees are your buffer."

Downstairs, passing the reflecting pools in the house, leads you to the jaw-dropping 83-foot swimming pool outside.
