On Thursday, locals are asked to give back to the community that gave to them with a donation to one of the hundreds of Miami-Dade County nonprofit organizations listed on their site.

But what would your donation do?

Your donation of $25 means vaccinations for a rescue dog or training for new entrepreneurs.

Your donation of $75 gives a student dance classes for one week.

It’s more than that. You can search various categories from Animals to Science to find the group you would like to help.

Your donation also empowers South Florida non-profit organizations to build a greater Miami.  And that is what the “Give Miami Day” is all about.

Last year, more than 17,000 donors raised $7.1 million for more than 600 local non-profit organizations, according to their site.
