Lyft To The Polls On Election Day In Miami At A Discount

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Election Day is nearly here and the ride sharing company Lyft is offering a discount to help folks to get out and vote.
Lyft is offering a single ride for 45-percent off on Tuesday, November 9th. The discount will apply to one ride between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to Miami passengers.
All Miami area Lyft users can access this promotion through the Deal of the Week email they received on Sunday night.
However, getting back from your polling place will cost full price.
If you've never tried Lyft before, new users can also use the code NOVEMBER8TH to receive $5 off their first ten rides.
The ride-hailing service Uber is also getting into the Election Day action. While the company is not offering a discount, it has teamed up with Google to create an in-app feature that aims to assist voters in locating their polling station.
