MIAMI (CBSMiami) - There was a massive police presence in one northwest Miami-Dade neighborhood early Friday morning after a home invasion in which a family, including two children, were held at gunpoint.

Just after 2 a.m., Jose Morales, Moises Morales and Yomaris Olivia arrived home at 12401 West Randall Park Drive.

As they got out of their car, they were approached by three armed men who wore dark clothing and had bandanas concealing their faces.

The Morales and Olivia were were ordered to the ground as the masked men demanded money. They were then forced at gunpoint into the home. Also in the home were Angie Mena and her two children 4 and 8 years old.

While one of the men stayed outside to act as a look out, the other two ordered the family into a bedroom. Jose Morales was then pistol whipped as they demaned money. As the men continued to ransack the home, one of the women was able to secretly call 9-1-1.

As officers arrived, the men ran off into the surrounding neighborhood. A perimeter was set up and a Special Response Team and K-9s were brought in, along with a helicopter to search by air.

The masked men got away with an undisclosed amount of cash taken from their victims. Police said the trio is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information on who they are should call Crime Stopppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
