Mega-Job Fair In Miami Lakes This Week

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The Miami Dolphins and Bed, Bath and Beyond are just two of the 30 or so companies which will be looking to fill 2,000 positions at a mega-career fair in Miami Lakes this week.

It will be held Wednesday, October 12th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Don Shula Hotel in Miami Lakes.

Among those hiring is Albion Staffing which has over 40 openings from Coral Gables to West Palm Beach for staffing billers and collectors, bilingual call center representatives, certified medical coders, export/import, warehouse lead and equipment and administrative support. The majority of their positions are full time and come with insurance packages.

Applebee's will be hiring servers, cooks, and bartenders. They'll also be looking for managerial positions including General Managers, Managers and Kitchen Managers.

Bed Bath and Beyond will be conducting on the spot interviews for sales associates, store managers, stock associates, customer service and cashiers.

Bullet Line is hiring for customer service representatives, maintenance, human resources, IT and accounting positions.

Carnival Cruise Lines has 50 immediate openings for classes that start 10/31! Employees receive 2 complementary Fun Ship cruises per year! Now hiring for Outbound Sales, Inbound Sales, Inbound Customer Service Solution Agents, Personal Vacation Planner and Cruise Vacation Planners.

f you plan to attend, here are some tips to get you ready.

If you have kids, make sure you arrange for a baby sitter. No children will be allowed into the event.

Dress your absolute best. This doesn't mean you have to go out and purchase an expensive outfit, just dress clean cut and professional. Also, update your resume and bring at least 30 copies with you.

BB&T Center conducts a security check at the door. Girls- please leave the big purses at home Thursday! The less stuff that they have to check at the door, the quicker the lines will move.

It's a good idea to do a little research in advance. Pick a few companies from the list and learn more about them online. The more you know about the company, the more you can converse with them at the event.

Make sure you visit every employer at the event and tell them what type of career you are interested in. If they do not have it available, they might be able to refer you to a company that does

No cell phones will be allowed inside the Career Fair room. And finally, this is South Florida, you may want to bring an umbrella.
