MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The University of Miami has confirmed 19-year-old Dewan Huell, arrested for allegedly attacking a man inside his ex-girlfriend's dorm room, will not be suspended.

According to his arrest report, Huell walked into his ex-girlfriend's dorm room uninvited at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Florida International University.

That's when, police say, he saw his ex-girlfriend had a male guest hiding in the closet with her.

Huell reportedly grabbed the man by his shirt collar and "forcefully dragged him out of the room." The incident left the man with scratches and abrasions on his upper chest.

FIU Police responded and arrested Huell. He was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Huell, who is facing one count of battery, has since bonded out on $1,500.

He worked out with his teammates on Friday.

The 215-pound power forward was a five-star recruit for the Canes and played at Miami Norland Senior High School.

Huell picked the Canes over South Carolina as well as Florida State University because he said he wanted to stay close to home and had a good feeling about UM.
