Ex-Teacher Accused Of Giving Girl Phone To Take Nude Pix

TAMPA (CBSMiami) - A former Tampa middle school teacher was charged with lewd conduct after he reportedly gave a student a cellphone and asked her to take nude photos of herself, and other students, and send them to him.

According to investigators Michael Geist, 31, gave the phone to the girl in April. In May, staff members at Rogers Middle School were informed of the allegations and contacted the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

When the investigation began, Geist resigned from this job. Deputies seized the cellphone as evidence.

Geist was arrested Monday night and bonded out of jail early Tuesday.
