HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) -- Bubbling out of a newly formed sink hole, water from a 16-inch main sent waves of water flowing down a Hollywood street.

The water main break is located at N. 19th Avenue and Wilson Street -- but the flow can be seen a block away at Federal Highway.

"I started hearing water, flowing water," said Andre Rodrigue, who lives nearby. "I was like, what's going on? I knew it was not raining."

Rodrigue was home with her granddaughter when she realized there was a problem.

"The water was coming out like, a few feet high," she said. "It was bad. I asked my neighbor, you're getting flooded too?"

Left behind is a big hole in the street. Work crews made it to the scene, shutting down the flow before it got worse.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area between Taft Street and Harding Street.
