MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) -- The dog that walked into a hospital - not a bar - has been reunited with his loving owners.

Miramar police tweeted out a picture of the adorable pup that was spotted at Memorial Miramar Hospital Friday morning.

Surveillance video shows the schnauzer walking into the hospital through the main lobby just before 7 a.m.

Nurse Deanna Cherry  spotted him wandering around the hospital when she arrived for work.

"He was just wandering around the circle," said Cherry.

Her instincts immediately kicked in.

"I was afraid to let him go outside because there's a little lake out there and what if a car hit him," said Cherry.

So she chased him around the parking lot for 15 minutes then lured him inside with water and he followed her inside. From there, she dropped him off at the registration desk where he got his name - Reggie.

"We call him Reggie because he spent all his time at registration today," said hospital employee Jessica Rodriguez. "He's been sleeping next to my feet all day today."

Rodriguez discovered that he's a loving dog who likes people and craves attention.

"He was kind of like crying earlier today so he really misses his family and we're eager to find that place for him," said Rodriguez.

And that place will be right back at his usual home.

Late Friday night, Miramar PD tweeted out the dog, whose real name is Price, was reunited with his family.
