STUART (CBSMiami/AP) — For the second time this month, a teen suspected of being under the influence of powerful drugs has attacked a random couple in Martin County.

On Sunday, the 19-year old jumped through a plate glass window of a home in Stuart and attacked a mother and her son inside.

Sheriff William Snyder said the man was using a designer drug that didn't appear in a database of the narcotics analyzer used by investigators.

When the man smashed through the window, Snyder said, he grabbed the woman. She broke away and screamed for her adult son.

Snyder said the son fought the man while his mother hit the assailant on the head with a baseball bat.

Deputies handcuffed the man and bound his feet because he was kicking them.

On August 15th, 19-year old Austin Harrouf attacked and killed a couple as they sat in the garage of their home.

Autopsy results show Michelle Stevens died from blunt force trauma injuries and John Stevens died from multiple injuries. When deputies arrived, Harrouff was astride Stevens' body, biting him on the face.

He tested negative for common street drugs like cocaine, heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine. The results of more extensive testing to determine whether he may have ingested bath salts or flakka are still pending.

Harrouff, who is in and out of consciousness at the hospital due to medication, will be charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the couple's death, as well as attempted first-degree murder for the stabbing of the couple's neighbor, Jeff Fisher, who suffered multiple wounds when he tried to intervene before calling 911.
