FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Lauderhill police have asked for the public's help in finding the person who shot and killed a woman.

Last Friday, just before 7 a.m., police received word that there was an unresponsive woman on the ground in the area of 1600 NW 34 Terrace.

When officers arrived they found the body of 30-year old Tiara Register, a mother of two, shot to death and dumped in a grassy area above a canal.

Willie and Rosa Beal live just feet away from where Register's body was found. They heard gunfire a few hours before.

"I have daughters and granddaughters so it's upsetting," said Willie Beal. "And I hope they catch whoever did it because they can do it again."

Register's close friend Bernadette Verdule said Register was always looking out for the kids.

"She was first to feed them always part of the summer program," said Verdule.

Police say they have no leads in this case, therefore no suspects, and could use the public's help.

Anyone with information urged to call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493 TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information which leads to an arrest.
