MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A stray dog now has a home and an owner he seemed to have chosen - except she lived halfway across the world.

Flight attendant Olivia Sievers said she regularly travelled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to CNN.com.

On one of her trips earlier this year, a stray dog took a liking to her and followed her around the city.

She told Noticiero Trece she even tried to lose the dog at one point since she didn't want him getting attached but she couldn't lose him.

He ended up sitting in front of her hotel in the area of Puerto Madero. She eventually fed him and played with him.

But before she knew it, she was back in the air flying to the next location.

Months later, she returned to the same hotel and the dog was there waiting for her.

Sievers decided to name the dog Rubio and eventually adopted him.

Now Rubio lives with her in Germany and has two other dogs to play with.
