MIAMI (CBSMiami) –  Authorities are searching for a man they say killed a woman and her two children in Miami over the weekend.

Miami-Dade police said they have recovered the car that the suspect – 32-year-old Antwon Lamar Fair – was last seen driving. It was a white 2009 Chevy Impala with Florida tag number "BDYW67."

As of late Monday afternoon, they had not caught him.

The children's uncle, who did not want to show his face or give his name, told CBS4's Peter D'Oench, "It's not right. The kids loved this guy like he was their own father. It does not seem real. I don't understand how anyone can do this to their kids or step kids and the mother. I spent a lot of time with those kids."

"If anyone knows anything, it is not hard to dial the number," he added. "This has seemed so surreal."

D'Oench asked, "Did you ever see any signs that something like this might happen?"

"No," the uncle replied. Things are happening bad again. It was just 7 months ago that Takeeya lost her own sister."

Investigators said Fair shot and killed 39-year old Takeeya "KeKe" Fulton, his girlfriend and mother of three of his children, and her 19-year-old daughter Nuckeria Harris inside their home overnight Sunday.

In total, police said Fulton has six children.

They said he also shot two of her sons – 17-year-old Cory Johnson and 12-year-old Jamari Johnson.

The 17-year-old died at the hospital while the 12-year-old, at last check, was listed in critical condition. He was shot twice in the chest.

The other children were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not harmed, according to the family

The shooting reportedly happened after an argument between Fulton and Fair. They were at home sleeping at about 4 a.m. Sunday when, police said, Fair opened fire.

Family members on Sunday made a plea for justice to the public – asking anyone with information on Fair's whereabouts to come forward.

Neighbors who knew the children are heartbroken.

A woman who lives across the street said the 17-year-old was always helpful, polite and had aspirations of being a lawyer.

Neighbors next door spoke very little English but were seen pacing up and down the sidewalk in tears.

Another neighbor said he never saw the couple argue and didn't hear the shots but saw the kids all the time and saw their mom working all the time.

At a shelter hearing on Monday afternoon, a family member told a judge at the Children's Courthouse that she was willing to take care of Fulton's three younger children who are 5, 7 and 6 months old as well as the 12-year-old child in the hospital.

Judge Cindy Leiderman ordered that the children all have grief therapy and said a home study should be conducted by DCF.

Meantime, the search continues for Fair who police said should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
