It happened at the Beijing Badaling Wildlife World near the Great Wall where visitors drive their own cars, safari style, through enclosures where animals roam free. Visitors are told not to get out of their cars.

But on Saturday, a woman did get out of her car and is seen on the video, walking around to the driver's side. A moment later, a Siberian Tiger pounced on her and dragged her away.

The woman's husband and her mother ran after the tiger in an attempt to help but a second tiger, attacked the mother and killed her. That attack was not on camera.

The younger woman survived and remains hospitalized after undergoing surgery on Sunday, according to The Beijing News. A young boy, also in the car, was not hurt.

There are different reports as to why the woman got out of the vehicle in the first place. Chinese media reported she got into some kind of family fight in the car while the South China Morning Post reported the family wasn't fighting but they actually thought they were no longer in the wildlife area and no longer had to remain in the car.

The wildlife park was closed for the investigation.
