MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami travelers cannot handle the heat.

Miami, Florida - the city known for beautiful people, stunning beaches and exciting nightlife has been given another title - this one not so complimentary. According to Travel + Leisure's readers, Miami has been crowned the rudest city in all of the United States.

Christine Austin, a Florida-based travel blogger offered her opinion on Miami's new title, "They're multilingual, beautiful, and wealthy, for regular folks, visiting here can feel like stumbling into a nightclub full of supermodels while you're wearing yoga pants."

This year's survey consisted of a lot of surprises. For instance, New York, the city known for grumpy, impatient, fast walkers decided to learn some manners and dropped down from the number one spot. It is now sitting at a more respectable third place. Another shocker? Two cities in Michigan made the list.

The survey took into consideration many aspects of America's biggest cities: cordiality, walkability, quality of life and safety.

Who knows? Perhaps it's the way Miami displays its beautiful assets like beachfront real estate, bilingual speaking residents, or the perennially sunny forecast, that seems to intimidate or turn off travelers.
