ORLANDO (CBSMiami) – The business district where the Pulse nightclub is located is trying to get back to normal as more details about the Orlando gunman emerge.

"We as a community have come together to show that this killer did not disrupt our unity." said Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs. "He did not disrupt the loving hearts and souls that we have in this community."

Amid memorials for the victims and lots of tears, several businesses around the nightclub have re-opened.

They believe it's time to move on, even though it'll never be time to forget.

"I think we just need to let everybody know, we're open for business here, they're open for business," Jacobs said.

The tint shop where Omar Mateen parked his car before walking into Pulse opened its door Wednesday.

"We're a small business, a lot of employees are here, we could use all the help we can get," the store owner said. "We're open for business, and all of us here we just need to get on with our lives and move forward."

The owner of Pulse insists the club will re-open. A fundraiser to help in that effort will take place Thursday night in Orlando.

Orlando police are also beginning to clear out the crime scene as their investigation continues.

A law enforcement official said Mateen was a frequent user of online dating sites looking for both men and women.

CBS News has also learned that both men and women have contacted the FBI claiming to have had relationships with Mateen.

During an interview with Univision, one man – whose appearance was altered to hide his identity – claimed that he had a sexual relationship for two months with Mateen.

Univision said investigators have questioned the man, but CBS News was unable to confirm the account.
