ORLANDO (CBSMiami) -- The bell at a downtown Orlando church rang 49 times early Sunday morning in memory of the Pulse nightclub shooting victims.

Several people stood outside a nearby memorial to pay their respects.

"I was passing by and I couldn't help but stop because I've been impacted greatly by it. It's been on my mind every day since Sunday."

It's been one week since gunman Omar Mateen walked into the nightclub and aimlessly opened fire.

On CBS's Face the Nation, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch said federal authorities will be releasing a partial transcript of the killer's conversations from within the nightclub with negotiators.

"What he was saying at that time, what part of his motivations, to why he was in the nightclub. Again, we had a lot of conflicting information over the course of the investigation, so that information will be coming out," said Lynch.

Mateen killed 49 people and injured dozens more before officers stormed into Pulse nightclub and killed him. Authorities continue to look into whether Mateen's wife knew about the attack.

"It's really too early to talk about other individuals in the investigation right now," Lynch added. "Suffice it to say, we are talking to everyone in connection to this killer and, of course, that includes family members."

Wayne LaPierre, the executive Vice President of the National Rifle Association, said gun control isn't the answer and that the focus should be on defeating ISIS.

"They're not going to attack hard targets. All the hard targets are protected by the government with guns. They're going to go for vulnerability. They're going to go for shopping malls. They're going to go for churches. The fact is, we need vigilance. We need preparedness," said LaPierre.
