FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) — A Bal Harbour doctor and the owner of a spa in Ft. Lauderdale have been accused of filling out fake diet pill prescriptions.

Dr. Frank Pierre, 71, and Terry Kerr, 46, are charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration officials say the men used fake patients' names to obtain phentermine, an addictive weight-control drug.

An arrest warrant shows that investigators discovered that several patients' names given to pharmacies in January couldn't be identified. The investigation also revealed that a prescription was filled using the name of someone who had died in 2012.

Pierre, an anesthesiologist, and Kerr, worked out of Kerr's business, TLK Wellness Spa.
