HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami) -- Multiple ATV's led police on a wild, off-road pursuit in Homestead.
It happened Wednesday afternoon, June 8th, near the Homestead General Aviation Airport.
Police said three suspects were wanted for allegedly ramming a Miami-Dade Police officer's car with an ATV, but they took off their four-wheelers in an attempt to escape.
The pursuit, at times, took them off the road and through the rural parts of southwest Miami-Dade.
Two of them were taken into custody quickly.
A third suspect, in a dark blue hoodie, refused to give in.
At one moment, he put his hands up and surrendered when his ATV got stuck in a ditch. However, before officers could actually reach him, he was able to get the vehicle moving again and continued to flee.
After about a half an hour, the young man came to a final stop along a dirt road. He surrendered and was taken into custody by an officer in a trailing police cruiser.
The three 16 year olds are being charged with aggravated assault, fleeing and eluding.
