MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) -- A Miami Gardens pastor is helping out in the search to find the person who fired shots that ended up killing a recent graduate.

"We're raising the reward $1,000. We're going to keep sending a message to her killer that we're going to continuously put it up until this killer stops," said Pastor Eric Readon of New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church.

Alexandra Dean, 23, had just graduated from Nova Southeastern University in May with plans on becoming a nurse. That dream ended over the weekend.

Dean was at a house party in Miami Gardens near 40 N.E. and 212th Terrace around 9 p.m. Saturday when a disturbance erupted outside the home and someone opened fire. One of those shots hit and killed Dean.

Miami Gardens Police do not believe Dean was the intended victim.

Meantime, authorities are looking for those responsible and that's where Readon wants to help.

"I want that family to know that we're in full support of them. We don't know them personally but we are supporting them. We feel their pain and we're going to do everything in our power to bring these killers to justice," said Readon.

He also has a message for those involved or those who know anything in the case.

"Let your conscience be your guide. Got a conscience turn yourselves in. If you've got a conscience talk to police," said Readon.

Anyone with information in the shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS. All calls are anonymous and could lead to an up to $3,000 reward.
