DAVIE (CBSMiami) – A woman accused of a deadly hit and run in Davie turned herself in to the court on Tuesday.

A very pregnant Alana Richter is accused in the hit and run that killed Leonel Dorta. His father spoke at Tuesday's hearing.

"How could you not know you struck down a 6'3", 265-pound guy. I mean she was okay with killing my son and having that on her conscience for the rest of her life," said his father – also named Leonel Dorta.

Dorta told the judge he believes Richter had been drinking when the crash happened and that's why he thinks she took off.

"I think Ms. Richter was probably intoxicated. She also did not come out of her house when police came to her front door. She knew that if she came out of her house, she would be arrested and tested," said Dorta.

Richter's attorney would not talk about those allegations.

"I don't have any comment on that, again, I think it's important the process play itself out in the courtroom not outside the courtroom, the media," said Defense Attorney Jeremy Kroll.

The deadly crash happened eight months ago. Now, eight months pregnant, Richter is about to give birth. She already has a toddler at home. The judge took the pregnancy into consideration when setting her bond.

With her wrists cuffed in front of her, Richter was taken into custody. Dorta's family is not convinced she's remorseful.

"I heard the other day that she was posting pictures of her and her son on Facebook smiling and acting like nothing was wrong in her life. How heartless can you be," asked Dorta.

"It's a tragic incident and our hearts break for the Dorta family and they're in the thoughts and prayers of the Richter family," said Kroll.
