MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Police are looking for a man who chased a woman down in Midtown, tackled her and grabbed her purse.

Surveillance video captured the attack.

"He jumps out of the car, leaves the car in drive, jumps on to the woman, pushes her and grabs that purse," says City of Miami Police Department spokesperson Kenia Fallat.

Police say the woman was attacked around 10:45 Monday night, a time that's still pretty early in Midtown.

"There's so many restaurants in the area. You go back and forth at all hours of the day," says Ellen Sherman, who lives in the area.

In the surveillance video, the woman looks like she's carrying a pizza box. You can see the napkins fly everywhere.

Police say she was walking behind an apartment building at 1900 North Bayshore Drive, when a dark-colored four-door Nissan Sentra, possibly a 2013 model, starts chasing her.

"He was looking for that precise moment when someone was in an area where there was nobody else around," says Officer Fallat.

We talked with women in the area who say they've never felt unsafe walking at night, and they still think it's a great neighborhood.

The victim was not hurt.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471- TIPS (8477).
