Man Accused Of Killing Child In Robbery Will Stand Trial

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The man accused of murdering a 10-year old during an armed robbery will stand trial.
On Tuesday, Anthawn Ragan, who was 19-years old at the time of deadly shooting, was found competent to stand trial.
Ragan is accused of shooting and killing 10-year old Aaron Vu while robbing a North Dade nail salon back in 2013.
Ragan and another person were running out the door when he turned around and fired a shot, which hit Vu, according to police.
A source told CBS4's Jim Defede, Ragan had been arrested before for armed robbery, but the state dropped the charges. The source said officers from another jurisdiction also interviewed Ragan about another robbery.
Ragan has also been connected to the murder of a 21-year-old man.
His next hearing is scheduled for June 9th.
